Our New Marlborough Studio: Architecture at the Heart of Wiltshire
We're delighted to announce the opening of our Marlborough studio — bringing our residential design practice to the heart of Wiltshire.

We are delighted to announce the opening of our Marlborough studio — a new base for Landmark Design in the heart of Wiltshire, bringing our residential architecture practice closer to the clients and communities we serve across this extraordinary county.
Marlborough is one of England's most beautiful and historic market towns: a place of remarkable architectural character, set within the North Wessex Downs AONB and bounded to the east by the ancient woodland of Savernake Forest. It is, we think, an ideal base for a residential practice with a genuine commitment to contextually sensitive, beautifully resolved architecture.
Why Marlborough?
The decision to establish a studio in Marlborough reflects where our work is taking us. Over the past several years, an increasing proportion of our projects has been located across Wiltshire — from extensions and renovations in the Vale of Pewsey to new build homes in the villages around Devizes and Swindon, and planning applications for sensitive rural sites across the county.
Being based in Marlborough allows us to serve these clients better: to visit sites more readily, to develop closer relationships with Wiltshire Council's planning and conservation teams, and to be genuinely embedded in the landscape and communities our buildings inhabit.
Wiltshire is also, architecturally, one of the most interesting and demanding counties to work in. The density of listed buildings, the extent of AONB designation, the richness of the county's vernacular traditions — these create a design environment that rewards experience, rigour, and genuine respect for context. It is exactly the kind of environment in which we do our best work.
What the Studio Means for Our Clients
For clients in Marlborough, the Vale of Pewsey, Devizes, Salisbury, Swindon, and across Wiltshire, the new studio means that Landmark Design is genuinely local — not a practice commuting in from elsewhere but one with a real presence in the county.
We offer initial consultations at the studio for clients who prefer to meet in person — over the drawings table with a cup of coffee rather than on a video call. And our proximity to the North Wessex Downs AONB means that site visits, pre-application meetings, and planning committee appearances are no longer a significant logistical undertaking.
A New Chapter
Opening the Marlborough studio is the beginning of a new chapter for Landmark Design — one in which Wiltshire joins Hampshire at the heart of our practice. We look forward to building relationships with homeowners, landowners, and developers across the county, and to delivering the same quality of work here that our clients across the South have come to expect.
If you'd like to arrange a consultation at the Marlborough studio, we would be delighted to welcome you. Get in touch to arrange a time.
