Bushes Barn is a modern barn conversion, south of Alton. The barn focuses on working within the provisions of class Q conversion - by way of using existing scale, design and materials of this existing barn.

We have proposed a simplistic design which is modern, sharp and nods to the materiality of the late barn - whilst allowing vast amounts of light into the family rooms. The main rooms, including kitchen, dining and living are access from a level threshold to the side of the barn. The main focus for the barn was to create a good circulation, to pull light deep into the building. Bedrooms are located on the lower ground floor, where smaller expanses of windows and carefully positioned slot windows allow light to precisely enter rooms where required.
