Foxglove Cottage is a new build house based in Basingstoke, Hampshire. The design was to keep the house simple, characterful and in the style of local vernacular. Materials were important, from a planning permission perspective and also to provide a warm and inviting entrance to the house.

The house is oriented to provide solar gains and allow the building to benefit from being Passiv-haus. Air tightness has been at the heart of the technical design, allowing air to be pumped around the house, withdrawing stale air and replacing with fresh clean air. The home boasts many sustainable features, to make sure it is Passiv-haus complaint, as requested by the homeowner.
