This standalone house, designed for a site in the rural setting of Chipping Norton in the Cotswold, offers a great characteristic home with warmth and traditionalism. Material palette and colours was key here to striking the right balance with the new build house to ensure that the façade, window and doors all complemented the surroundings and were seen as a positive contribution to the area.
High-level triple glazing glass fills the family rooms with light, while soft timber cladding and aluminium fascia’s allow the sharp edges to soften on their surroundings. Planning has been submitted for this new-build house in September and we currently are working with the local authority to reach a decision.
